Middle Eastern cuisine lovers are sure to love our Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium.  The leaves of this easy-to-grow plant give off a delicious lemony, rose scent and add a peppery Rose flavour to baking.  The silver-green leaves edged with cream look beautiful in a patio pot.

Urban Bounty Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium comes in a 1.5 litre pot.

What is Scented Geranium (Pelargonium)

Scented Geranium plants aren't actually a true Geranium at all.  This gorgeous flower bush belongs to the Pelargonium family.  Discovered in Africa and bought back to Holland by early explorers, they have bright flowers and varied scents.   They were popular in Victorian England when fragrant leaves were added to fingerbowls for guests to rinse their hands between courses at dinner.

Scented Geranium are perfect for balconies, apartment spaces and pots, and look fabulous in cottage and elegant gardens alike.  This hardy bush is also suitable for harsh coastal conditions. The Lady Plymouth variety has pale lavender flowers.

Culinary Uses for Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium (Pelargonium)

Add the leaves of Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium to cooking for something different.  We love them in exotic salads, baking, jams and jellies.  (Try them in shortbread for something special).  You can enjoy Lady Plymouth Geranium leaves in a herbal tea - just add 1 - 2 leaves per cup of hot water.

Growing Conditions - Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium (Pelargonium)

Scented Geraniums are an easy-care plant that thrives in the sun but will tolerate part shade.  They adapt well to most well-draining soil types, but prefer slightly acidic soil.  Pelargonium are drought tolerant, but prefer a light watering every now and then.  Although they adapt well to most soil types, they don't like having wet feet, so good drainage is important.

Be careful not to over-fertilise your plant, as this can cause your plant to become leggy.  If it does begin to look scruffy, Scented Geranium can easily be trimmed back to encourage it to bush out.  Remove spent flowers to encourage new buds to develop.

Preferred climate - Lady Plymouth Scented Geranium (Pelargonium)

These plants are best grown in warmer parts of New Zealand, as they won't cope well with frost. In these areas, the best planting season is any time from spring - autumn.   If you live in a cooler area and are still keen to try growing them, Pelargonium can easily be overwintered inside if grown in a pot.

We offer a replacement guarantee

To give you peace of mind, we offer a replacement guarantee if your plants do not arrive in good condition.  If there is a problem please let us know as soon as you receive your package and we will work with you to resolve it.

What will postage cost?

Postage varies by region, and by parcel size/weight.

Customers are asked to choose the correct postage option at checkout (urban or rural).

If you order a worm farm or garden bed and plants in the same order, the postage for the worm farm will be added to the postage for the other items.  (These items are dispatched from separate locations.)

If you live in the South Island, Waiheke or Great Barrier Island, please contact us for a custom shipping quote: info@urbanbounty.co.nz

How often do you dispatch?

To reduce the risk of plants sitting in a courier depot over weekends, we usually ship orders on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday (except public holidays).

How do you package your products?

We take extra care to water plants well and drain them before sending.  Plants are shipped in specially designed packaging, designed to reduce the risk of damage in transit. Trees and bushes are securely wrapped in paper to reduce risk of soil escaping during transit.  They are well supported with scrunched up paper to prevent movement during transit.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver to most locations in the North Island - you can order and make payment via our website, Facebook or Instagram stores.

South Island, Waiheke and Great Barrier

While we deliver to the South Island, we ask customers in these locations to email us for a quote: info@urbanbounty.co.nz  Shipping to the South Island can be expensive and is extremely variable by location - we like to avoid nasty shocks at checkout!

We don’t generally ship to Waiheke, Great Barrier except by special arrangement. (Delivery can be expensive, and we want to ensure that our live plants arrive in good condition.)  If items are small and non-perishable (such as seeds) delivery may be possible.  Contact us to discuss options: info@urbanbounty.co.nz

Do you deliver to post office boxes?

Unfortunately live products like plants, garden beds and worm farms can't be delivered to Post Office Boxes. Large items (like garden furniture) are delivered to the nearest freight depot for customer pickup if outside of Auckland.
